On 26 March 2014, The Hindu Lawyers Association took the first step to break down barriers between the legal profession and the Hindu Community with the Midlands launch of the HLA Guide for the Community.
The legal guide addresses various issues encountered by Hindu communities on a daily basis. Its aim is help communities to spot possible legal issues and seek legal advice and is essentially a reference point that committees could use in their regular meetings. In essence, it alerts Hindu communities to their rights and responsibilities.
Students from various NHSF chapters participated in this ground-breaking project by undertaking the initial research which was then used by legal professionals in its editing stages. The launch was hosted by Freeth Cartwright Solicitors at their Nottingham head office which was attended by legal professionals, members of local mandirs and past and present NHSF members.
Given the success of this event, the Hindu Lawyers Association is planning to have launch event in London. For your interest, we have included a small glimpse of the guide.
