The 20th Anniversary provides us an opportunity to unite Hindus across the country and get them involved. It gives us the platform to showcase and celebrate the magnificent achievements of the past 20 years. The last celebration event - Dynamic Spirit - was a revolutionary event and firmly defined the direction where the organisation would head in. Similarly with the 20th Anniversary we have the chance to revolutionise the future of NHSF and its members to create leaders for the future and inspire a lot more to do the same. The message should resonate throughout the year and encompass an international perspective (see below).

Please note that the World view takes into consideration all living beings, animals, nature and earth

AIMS

  • Increase awareness of and embrace Hindu Dharma internally (all chapter members)
  • Maximum participation amongst all members
  • Increase awareness and profiling of Hindu Dharma externally (wider samaj and world)

THEME

The celebration is called ARISE ARJUNA and the underlying message of the celebration is to Awaken, Arise and Act for Hindu Dharma. Arise Arjuna content for all stages will be based on one or more of the six themes below:

  • Hindu Identity (Understanding of Dharma)
  • Hindu Jagruti
  • Duty
  • Unity
  • Stand Up, Speak Up
  • True Sewa

EXECUTION

As this anniversary is a substantial milestone in the organisations history, it is therefore vital to celebrate it through out the year to do full justice to it. Therefore, rather than simply a single event like the 10th and 15th year celebrations, we thought that this time we'd look to celebrate on:

  • Personal
  • Chapter
  • Zonal
  • National

The official start timeline for the celebration will be from AGM 2011 - AGM 2012, thus ensuring the work of Arise Arjuna is celebrated equally with maximum participation from all members.

Some of the proposed activities at each stage can do with the theme are:

Personal Level
  • Daily practice of reading scriptures
  • Doing true Sewa regularly
  • Sponsored walks/run for charity

Chapter Level
  • Talks, discussions, debates, lecture tours, Hindu awareness days
  • Anniversary Diya (similar to Olympic Torch passing idea)
  • Logo Competition
  • Time Capsule
  • Regular Sewa

Zonal Level
  • Extend worship events in all zones to incorporate a Yagna
  • Talent Show
  • Zonal Retreats
  • Mini Conference around themes

National Level
  • Hindu Mela - Learning journey via interactive stalls displaying history of NHSF, sewa, stalls by other Hindu Organisations, mantra walks etc. Possibly 2day event
  • Sports Comp with Conference combined
  • Dynamic Spirit - Workshops/talks...
  • MahaYagna
