However, for the flame of Hindu Dharma to be carried forward, we as the Hindu samaj need to progress by sustaining and supporting what the Hindu students do.

The 20th anniversary of NHSF (UK), also known as Arise Arjuna has taught Hindu’s across the UK that in every single one of us there is an Arjuna, we have to arise and awake the Arjuna within us. The year-long celebration has seen various projects and events from the national mela and garba to personal initiatives such as doing daily practises of reading scriptures or doing true sewa regularly.

NHSF (UK) Central Zone have continued building bridges with the samaj for the last three years, in Birmingham. Central Zone, which contains 13 affiliated university chapters have continuously integrated to celebrate the 20th anniversary of NHSF (UK) via regular sewa, showcasing some of the finest events and sustaining Hindu Dharma. One of the key events where the strength of students and the samaj will come together is at the Central Zone 20 hour Ram Dhun on Saturday 10th March – Sunday 11th March 2012 at Shree Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Birmingham.

The event starts at 5pm on Saturday with a Shiv Puja followed by the Ram Dhun at 6pm which will end at 2pm on Sunday. Throughout the event, sewa will be carried out, various exhibitions on display and interactive activities for young children to take part in, along with bhojan prashad provided throughout both days. The twenty hours will give everyone the blessing of Shree Hanuman Ji and bring the Hindu samaj from strength to strength.

Shree Hanumanji’s bhakti to Bhagawan Shree Ram is an ideal model; Hanumanji’s devotion was his source of strength which is a seamless illustration of how a bhakt should act. Hanumanji’s devotion for Shree Ram to this day echoes in the heart of all devotees guiding them to the absolute truth. The essence of this highest principle is felt and enjoyed only in the tyaga (sacrifice) one makes to establish satya (truth) and Dharma in society as shown by both Shree Hanumanji and Bhagawan Shree Ram.

For more information please email centralzoneteam@nhsf.org.uk.

By Kiran Patel NHSF (UK) Central Zone Coordinator The National Hindu Students Forum (NHSF) UK ethos has always been to protect, preserve, practise and promote Hindu Dharma; this has been established through national events such as annual conferences to weekly chapter events such as Arti and chintan sessions.
