This has been seen by the London 2012 Olympic Games organisers acknowledging the need of a multi-faith centre for inclusion and diversity. This need is being met on Saturday 16<sup>th<\/sup> February 2013 at Tipton Sports Academy, where the National Hindu Students Forum (NHSF) UK is holding their ninth National Annual Sports Competition.<\/p>\n<p>Over 800 students will be competing in 94 teams from over 43 Universities across the country in some of the Hindu cultures most ancient, exciting and adrenaline-pumped sports. The NHSF (UK) National Annual Sports Competition celebrates sport in Britain today, showcasing popular modern sports such as netball, badminton and football whilst also keeping alive traditional Indian sports, including Kho Kho and Kabaddi.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Hindus are currently underrepresented in British Sport. NHSF (UK) strives to take lead from the London Olympic Games 2012 by encouraging young people to involve themselves in sport and the NHSF (UK) National Sports Competition is a perfect platform to encourage Hindu Students to take up sport at a higher level and one day represent Great Britain in the Olympics.<\/p>\n<p>Pranav Bhanot, President of NHSF (UK) said, &#8220;This has always been a fierce competition, but we also aim to instill a fundamental principle of Hindu Dharma; \u2018Sangathan Mein Shakti Hai\u2019- In unity there is strength.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tejal Shah NHSF (UK) PR Co-ordinator Religion and sports are seen to be strong influences in inspiring young individuals in society to be successful.
