It was a creation. For Jaimal Patel, NHSF (UK) London Zone Coordinator, it was important to unite the entire zone to celebrate Navratri and to create an unforgettable night. It did exactly this; 12 London Zone Universities united for an incredible night of garba and dandiya.<\/p>\n<p>Behind the scenes, a small Garba committee were proudly watching their plans fall into place, and I was lucky enough to be part of this family.<\/p>\n<p>In the Summer I received a phone call from Jaimal explaining his idea of unity. I replied with enthusiasm, not only was it a chance to get to know other NHSF university societies, but it also gave me an opportunity to do garba again! Soon enough, a WhatsApp group was created with endless ideas and opinions put forward from all 13 of us. It was a task that only Harshini Patel, Rajen Jotangia and Jaimal could manage! Messages turned into productive conference calls to finalise venues, food, timetables, tasks and logistics of the night.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the event were gold dust with Presidents of all Chapters overwhelmed with phone calls regarding the event. With a capacity of 600 people, the event was truly exclusive! <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The day of the garba arrived, and the committee took over Hammersmith Town Hall to transform the venue. The first guests arrived, the final earpieces were clipped on and the dhol beat dropped- the event had started! Watching so many people take over the venue for ranjaniyo and dandiya was absolutely amazing! With food, sewa stands and information regarding NHSF projects Dharma Fest 2013 and Human Boundaries, the opportunities for students to get involved were endless.<\/p>\n<p>Overlooking the hall as I walked up the stairs to the stage was the highlight of my night. Seeing all NHSF (UK) London universities sitting together proved that our aim had succeeded and after speaking to Punit Vara, he agreed that the support shown by everyone was incredible! On behalf of the entire committee: Bhavik, Jaina, Nandita, Neha, Punit, Vaidehi, Sneha, Pranav, Chandni, Harshini, Jaimal, Rajen and myself, I would like to thank every single person who helped us, every single NHSF society and everyone that joined us for such a brilliant night!
