NHSF (UK) PR Team<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

As the National Hindu Students\u2019 Forum (UK) begins its new year, it does so with a degree of excitement and anticipation. A new national committee brings with it the desired need to continue building on the success of its predecessors, whilst also introducing the values of our organization to a greater Samaj.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new academic year kicked off with Imperial College London hosting the first annual event, June Committees\u2019 Day on Saturday 21st June 2014. Over two hundred delegates took part in the event representing around 40 university societies across the country. The aim of the day was for the chapter committees to plan for the upcoming academic year and gain skills which would be useful for them; this was done through instructive workshops.<\/span><\/p>\n

The theme of the day was emphasising a stronger sense of family this year, with a united drive to work together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Raghav Chandegra, Campus Coordinator said \u201cChapters were given the opportunity to envisage their successful year in chapter breakouts, and collaborate during their Zonal breakouts with their neighbouring universities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The day marked the growth of the NHSF (UK) family with Exeter and Brighton formally joining NHSF (UK) during the event. Much attention was given to the need to create leaders for the community and to build on inter-chapter networking.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur values and work should reflect the spirit of Hindus in our Samaj\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vishal Patel, Head of the Strategy Team, along with Aislinn Mae, National Committee Learning Officer, conducted the Presidents Workshop, the largest of the day; which saw 47 presidents and vice-presidents gathered to aim and inspire sewa and leadership from the grassroots of the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

With 80 percent of the NHSF (UK) National Committee being new this year, it marked a start of the fresh new approach. NHSF (UK) Advisory Member Sunilji Pala, in his closing speech to the delegates, highlighted the need to serve the Hindu community and the importance of Hindu societies nationally in achieving this task.<\/span><\/p>\n
