{"id":4767,"date":"2015-10-07T13:29:12","date_gmt":"2015-10-07T13:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nhsf.org.uk\/?p=4767"},"modified":"2020-06-15T12:01:15","modified_gmt":"2020-06-15T11:01:15","slug":"the-world-hindu-economic-forum-whef-london-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nhsf.org.uk\/?p=4767","title":{"rendered":"The World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF) London 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The World Hindu Economic Forum London 2015 (\u201cWHEF London 2015\u201d): \u2018Making society prosperous by investing in the youth of tomorrow.\u2019 This was one of the many objectives WHEF London 2015 adhered to, which hit home for the National Hindu Students\u2019 Forum (UK), NHSF (UK).<\/p>\n<p>From Friday 11<sup>th<\/sup> September 2015 to Sunday 13<sup>th<\/sup> September 2015, WHEF London 2015 made history, hosting the 4<sup>th<\/sup> annual WHEF conference, after seeing successful ventures in Hong Kong, Bangkok and New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the World Hindu Economic Forum is to generate and spread surplus wealth to make society prosperous \u2013 a vision much in tune with that of NHSF, which hopes to one day see a prosperous and harmonious world based on Dharma.<\/p>\n<p>NHSF was fortunate to be the official WHEF London 2015 Volunteers Partner Organisation, as well as being an integral part of the organising committee that helped to shape and run the event. NHSF (UK) members played an imperative role ranging from opening the forum, to becoming Co-Masters of Ceremonies to delivering talks (Yajur Shah, National President) amidst prestigious, well-renowned professionals<\/p>\n<p>The conference delivered a wide array of high\u2011calibre sessions, from youth entrepreneurs explaining their business models to seminars on raising funds for expansion and growth. Whether you were a student, lawyer or from any other profession, the conference exposed all attendees to a multitude of opportunities. These opportunities were further enhanced by the networking sessions which allowed people to build relationships and foster contacts, whether it was to expand their own business or start-up ground-breaking initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Between leading and organising the conference, volunteers from NHSF (UK) actively took part in the sessions, gaining insightful knowledge to further their current and future careers.<\/p>\n<p>Swami Vigyanandji, the founder of the World Hindu Congress (WHC), gave his thanks to NHSF and said <em>\u201cmy heartfelt congratulations for your and your team\u2019s hard work and commitment to make this international conference a real success. This conference gave an opportunity for many of the young volunteers of NHSF to show their leadership skills and capability, and they have proved it beyond expectations\u2026the future Hindu community is in good hands.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the final speeches of the conference, NHSF (UK) received a standing ovation for the spectacular and tireless efforts of all the volunteers in ensuring the smooth running of the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>NHSF (UK) would like to thank and congratulate the steering committee of WHEF London 2015:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anil Puri \u2013 Chairman\/Director<\/li>\n<li>Kajal Valani Sheth \u2013 Director\/Project Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Hiten Sheth \u2013 Project Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Subhash Thakrar \u2013 Vice Chairman<\/li>\n<li>Gautam Sen \u2013 Steering Committee Member<\/li>\n<li>Hasmukh Shah \u2013 Steering Committee Member<\/li>\n<li>Hardev Singh \u2013 Steering Committee Member<\/li>\n<li>Rosan Sapkota \u2013 Steering Committee Member<\/li>\n<li>Remya Unnithan \u2013 Admin Secretary<\/li>\n<li>Nat Puri \u2013 Patron<\/li>\n<li>Swami Vigyanand \u2013 WHEF, WHC Founder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Special commendations were conveyed to NHSF (UK)\u2019s National General Secretary, Remya Unnithan, who had been actively involved with the organisation since May 2014 as WHEF Secretary. She was appointed to represent NHSF (UK) within the steering committee to establish a mutually beneficial relationship from a youth perspective. From liaising with the delegates, to recruiting volunteers and ensuring the logistics of the conference were up to scratch, Remya reinforced the fact that NHSF (UK) members were <em>\u201cmore than just volunteers\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>She explained <em>\u201cthis year\u2019s conference emphasised on youth development and I wanted to help cultivate the opportunity of giving fellow youth the experience of running an international conference\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>WHEF London 2015 committee have now passed the torch to Los Angeles, USA who will be hosting WHEF 2016.
