<\/span>NH<\/span>SF (UK) has officially begun<\/span> its<\/span> celebrations for \u201c25: Bearing the Flame of Hindu Dharma\u201d <\/span>(<\/span>celebrating our silver anniversary, 25 years<\/span>),<\/span> by<\/span> hosting its first national event, June Committees\u2019 Day (JCD). JCD<\/span> took place on Saturday 18th June<\/span> 2016<\/span> at the University of Nottingham and what a huge success it was! Many months of planning was certainly demonstrated in the smoothly deli<\/span>vered workshops, which<\/span> left <\/span>Chapter C<\/span>ommittee member<\/span>s who attended<\/span> inspired and motivated<\/span> to make this year the best yet<\/span> for their <\/span>Chapter.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day <\/span>kick started<\/span> with a game of<\/span> Human Bingo, whic<\/span>h gave every person in the room<\/span> a chance to interact.<\/span> The purpos<\/span>e of the game was to find people who \u201clive abroad\u201d, \u201cstudy <\/span>engineering\u201d and so and so forth.<\/span> <\/span>Good <\/span>humour<\/span> <\/span>and friendly introductions acted as the perfect icebreaker. The entire day was dedicated to the development of Chapter Committees through role breakouts and brand new, knowledge packed workshops<\/span>,<\/span> such as Keeping Hinduism Hip, Money Matters, Innovative, Invigorative and Inspiring Events, Brightening the Beacons, <\/span>T<\/span>he Power of Social Media and <\/span>T<\/span>he Bigger Picture. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Bigger Picture workshop was particularly an eye-catcher as it <\/span>brought together the NHSF (UK) Advisory Board, A<\/span>lumni and <\/span>the <\/span>current National Co<\/span>mmittee with Chapter Committees<\/span>. This was not only massively inspiring for Chapters, but for newer me<\/span>mbers of<\/span> the<\/span> National Committee<\/span>. Our 25th year marks a turning point in history for the Hindu youth as we reflect on how much we have a<\/span>chieved throughout the years<\/span> of NHSF (UK) and<\/span> how much more we are about to.<\/span><\/p>\n

Organising committee member of the World Hindu Economic Forum<\/span>, London,<\/span> and Honorary Professor at Nottingham Business School, <\/span>Hardevji<\/span> Singh<\/span>,<\/span> started the proceedings with an inspirational talk around the key skills developed at such training days that can help nurture and promote young entrepreneurs<\/span> of the future<\/span>. T<\/span>he event saw <\/span>the launch of new initiatives<\/span>, all in celebration <\/span>of<\/span> \u201c25: Bearing the Flame of Hindu Dharma\u201d, including, but not limited to, 100in100 Well Wishers Scheme, the new NHSF (UK) Database, the Adopt a <\/span>Mandir<\/span> project<\/span>, Chapter Development Fund<\/span> and many more. <\/span><\/p>\n

JCD aimed to convey one very important focus, which was to <\/span>emphasise<\/span> that National Committee and Chapter Committees are one strong union who work alongside each other. Interestingly, not only did Chapters <\/span>realise<\/span> the importance of treating their committees well, but National Committee also demonstrated a stronger connection when producing the workshops<\/span>,<\/span> which posed as a learning curve for<\/span> <\/span>everyone<\/span>. Everybody definitely<\/span> felt the strength<\/span>,<\/span> which lies in unity. We are one big NHSF<\/span> (UK)<\/span> family, who support each other in our <\/span>endeavours<\/span> and succeed through our hard work every single time. <\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, JCD <\/span>proved to be a great <\/span>success and the coming year is sure to see some <\/span>of <\/span>our biggest, best and brightest events to mark the 25th year of NHSF (UK)<\/span> \u2013 \u201c25: Bearing the Flame of Hindu Dharma\u201d<\/span>!<\/span><\/p>\n

The celebrations have well and truly begun.<\/span><\/p>\n
