Presidents\u2019 Day was an inspiring event where we got to meet other Presidents and Vice-Presidents from around the UK and learn how they run their societies and do events. It was a very valuable day where we learnt not only what NHSF (UK) is all about, but also who we are individually, and what we want to achieve in our role.<\/p>\n

We enjoyed getting out of our comfort zone – it\u2019s great when you stand up and talk to people you\u2019ve never met before to make new friends for future collaborations as well as strengthening your confidence! The speakers enlightened us on how we should present ourselves at university and in the wider Hindu community. Mostly, we loved the engagement and the discussions that took place afterwards!<\/p>\n

Overall, Presidents\u2019 Day is definitely something we would recommend to future Presidents! Thank you very much for having us!<\/p>\n

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I gained from our NHSF (UK) Presidents\u2019 Day. It has helped me, and I am sure many of the other Presidents, get to know one another, connect on a spiritual level and strengthen our plans and skills for the upcoming year.<\/p>\n

The day was filled with uplifting workshops, from yog\u0101sana<\/em>, to ice-breaker activities and various other competitions. At first, I was nervous and did not know what to expect\u2026 but as I got to know and meet other like-minded people I felt more comfortable as we began discussing our hopes and expectations for Hindu Society. I found Dr Sachin ji Nandha\u2019s talk particularly inspiring as he explained the aims and growth of NHSF (UK) from when it was founded to its current status as the largest Hindu student body outside of India!<\/p>\n

Through talks on setting targets, delegation and how to be a fair leader, we were able to reflect on the change that we wish to bring back to our respective Chapters. I also found the public speaking workshop useful as it allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and engage with an audience. I was able to develop myself as a person as well as a future leader and ambassador by networking with other presidents and having the opportunity to ponder upon my strengths and weaknesses.<\/p>\n

By the end of the day, I felt more confident, excited and prepared for the year ahead. I learnt more about how vital my role on the committee is in setting an example for the sam\u0101j<\/em>in our Chapter. All in all, it was an extremely insightful and productive meeting and I am truly grateful to be part of such a wide-reaching organisation.<\/p>\n
