You should read the most up to date advice at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/coronavirus\">www.gov.uk\/coronavirus<\/a> and ensure that you are following the guidance for your area.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;]<h1><b>Health Guidance<\/b><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What are the symptoms of Covid-19?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experiencing (or suspecting to have) a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; or a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What should I do if I have the symptoms?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You should self isolate for a period of 10 days if you have experienced any of the symptoms, and arrange to have a free test which can be booked via this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/get-coronavirus-test\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">link<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<i style=\"font-size: 14px;\">If you have obtained a positive test result, you must restart the 10 day isolation period from the day you received the result.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What should I do if someone I know has symptoms?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<b style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Household<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are in the same household, you <\/span><b><i>must stay at home for 14 days <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">starting from the day the person in your household developed symptoms or when their test was taken.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>N<\/strong><b style=\"font-size: 14px;\">HS Test &amp; Trace<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are contacted by the NHS Test &amp; Trace service it means you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19. <\/span><b><i>You must self-isolate for 14 days.<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note: <\/span><\/i><b><i>household <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">means a group of people (who may or may not be related) <\/span><\/i><b><i>living at the same address<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and who share facilities with one another,\u00a0 This includes a support bubble and covers those you are flat\/house sharing with in university or private accommodation.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Am I allowed to interact with people from a different household?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You should always follow the Government mandated social distancing guidelines when interacting with anyone from a different household. This means ensuring that you:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wash and sanitise your hands regularly<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cover your face in enclosed spaces<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make space when around people from different households.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Ensure that you always keep a distance of 2 metres where possible. Where a distance of 2 metres cannot be kept, please mitigate the spread of Covid-19 by wearing a face mask and avoiding face-to-face contact.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h1><b>What are the new rules around UK regions?<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">England<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 5th November 2020 to 2nd December 2020 England will be having a lockdown or a \u2018circuit breaker\u2019 to reduce the spread of Covid-19.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means that you must stay at home and avoid meeting people who you do not live with, except for specific purposes. A full list has been provided by the government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november\">here<\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span>Specific purposes include:\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Going to work or to volunteer (but only where you cannot do this from home);<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Going to shops that are permitted to be open;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For education and childcare;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medical appointments;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>You <b style=\"font-size: 14px;\">must not meet people socially<\/b><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">. However, you can exercise or meet in a public, outdoors space with people you live with, your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/making-a-support-bubble-with-another-household\" style=\"font-size: 14px;\">support bubble<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"> or with one other person<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>You<b style=\"font-size: 14px;\"> must not meet socially indoors<\/b><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"> with family or friends unless they are part of your household or support bubble.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>You can leave home for education as universities will still be open during this time, however you should check with your Students&#8217; Union to see what facilities are still open and how they are operating.<\/li>\n<li>If you live at university, <b style=\"font-size: 14px;\">you must not move back and forth<\/b><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"> between your permanent home and student home during term time. You should only return home at the end of term.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Note: Please ensure you check updated and accurate guidance for your <\/i><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/local-covid-alert-levels-what-you-need-to-know\"><b><i>area<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i>.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scotland<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 2 November 2020, Scotland will be operating a five-level COVID-19 protection system. You can check <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/check-local-covid-level\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which level your area falls into.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Level 0<\/b><\/td>\n<td>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8 people from up to 3 households may meet indoors (including inside someone\u2019s home) and 15 people from up to 5 households may meet outdoors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All organised sports and exercise activities are permitted within these restrictions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avoid any unnecessary travel to Level 3 or 4 areas and minimise unnecessary journeys to other areas in different levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Level 1<\/b><\/td>\n<td>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 people from up to 2 households may meet indoors (including inside someone\u2019s home) or outdoors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All organised outdoor sports, personal training and coaching, are permitted within these restrictions, as are indoor group exercise classes and <\/span><b>non-contact<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avoid any unnecessary travel to Level 3 or 4 areas and minimise unnecessary journeys to other areas in different levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Level 2<\/b><\/td>\n<td>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 people from up to 2 households may meet indoors (but <\/span><b>not<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in someone\u2019s home) or outdoors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All organised outdoor sports, personal training and coaching, and organised indoor exercise and non-contact sport are permitted within these restrictions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avoid any unnecessary travel to Level 3 or 4 areas and minimise unnecessary journeys to other areas in different levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Level 3<\/b><\/td>\n<td>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 people from up to 2 households may meet indoors (but <\/span><b>not<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in someone\u2019s home) or outdoors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organised outdoor <\/span><b>non-contact<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sports, personal training and coaching are permitted within these restrictions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avoid any unnecessary travel out of the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Level 4<\/b><\/td>\n<td>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 people from up to 2 households may meet indoors (but <\/span><b>not<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in someone\u2019s home) or outdoors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can meet others outside for <\/span><b>non-contact<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sports or exercise within the restrictions. Indoor sports facilities will be closed and indoor sports are not permitted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avoid any unnecessary travel out of the area. Minimise journeys within the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>\u00a0<b style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><i>Note: Please ensure you check updated and accurate guidance for your <\/i><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/local-covid-alert-levels-what-you-need-to-know\" style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><b><i>area<\/i><\/b><\/a><b style=\"font-size: 14px;\">.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wales<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You must limit the times you leave your home and the distance you travel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You must <\/span><b>not visit other households<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or meet other people you do not live with.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Face coverings continue to be mandatory<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the indoor public spaces that remain open (subject to certain exemptions and exceptions), including on public transport and in taxis.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you attend university in England, which is not covered by the firebreak, you are allowed to travel to university throughout the firebreak period. However, this is only if you are unable to access your education online for this period.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students living in Wales, and\u00a0 Welsh students living outside Wales <\/span><b>should not travel between university and home.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You should <\/span><b>only move<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between your term time address and your home address if absolutely necessary, for example for work, to provide o<\/span><b>r receive care or because of concerns about your wellbeing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. You should not return home for a \u2018visit\u2019 during this period.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>Note: Please ensure you check updated and accurate guidance for your <\/i><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/local-covid-alert-levels-what-you-need-to-know\"><b><i>area<\/i><\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><b>Holding Events on Campus<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NHSF (UK) advises that you <\/span><b>continue to hold all Hindu society events and activities virtually <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so that more students are able to join and participate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h1><b>Travel<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ideally try to use methods <\/span>that do not rely on transport infrastructure<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, such as walking or cycling.\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you must use public transport try to use the nearest method available to you and try to keep this to a minimum to reduce your risk of exposure to Covid-19. Most transport networks mandate that you have to practise socially distant seating and wear face coverings at all times.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You should not travel with someone from outside your household unless you can practise social distancing &#8211; for example by cycling.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note that it is not possible to practice effective social distancing in small vehicles.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p><b style=\"color: #333333; font-size: 30px;\">What do I do if a Hindu Society member tests positive for Covid-19?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whilst there should be no face-to-face Hindu society events, if an event\/session takes place in person, contact information of all attendees need to be taken prior to the event. This can be done by having a registration system in place.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All events should have an NHS QR code for your venue to help trace, track and stop the spread of COVID-19. You can create your own poster using the service linked <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/create-coronavirus-qr-poster\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If at any event someone tests positive, an email should go out with the subject of the email containing COVID-19 URGENT. The email should inform every attendee that somebody has tested positive and that each attendee is required to self-isolate for 10 days. In addition, it is advised to use a second method to ensure the message reaches the individual, by way of a phone call or text.
