BRITISH GURKHAS

It is announced in May 2009 that all Gurkha veterans who served four or more years in the British Army pre-1997 would be allowed to settle in Britain. This comes after a long campaign to win rights for the Gurkhas – Nepali-origin soldiers who selflessly fought as a regiment within the British Army.
