As a new year begins for National Hindu Students Forum (UK), the organisation is busily preparing to host the first event of 2012-2013, the newly revamped June Committee’s Day. The event will enable committee members of affiliated Hindu Societies from across the UK to partake in a day of networking activities specifically designed to engage, empower and encourage the development of skills and the latest ‘know-how’ to kick-start a promising year ahead.
NHSF (UK) will be welcoming over 200 students on Saturday 23rd June 2012 at the University of Wolverhampton. With 37 chapters in attendance from across the UK the event will also provide a platform for newly affiliated societies of NHSF (UK) to see first-hand exactly what the organisation has to offer.
With the day designed to revolve purely around chapters the invaluable networking opportunities will help acquaintances with the national committee and other chapter committee members encouraging sharing of resources and information. The morning will start with a welcome brief followed by a range of breakout sessions which will allow members to meet their nearby university chapters, zonal teams, chapter buddies and understand the benefits of being affiliated with a national organisation. The afternoon will equip committee members for their role through individual committee responsibility-based workshops while the other half of the afternoon sessions will be specifically focused on the needs of each chapter. The chapter orientated workshops include a motivating ‘turning potentiality into actuality’ session to an exciting ‘keeping Hinduism hip’ workshop with the notion of developing the leaders of tomorrow.
Following feedback from previous years, the day has been thoughtfully developed and tailored for committee members to engage in an inspiring experience. If there are any queries regarding June Committee’s Day 2012 then please feel free to email the Campus Coordinator, Kiran Patel (kiran.patel@nhsf.org.uk).
