Sunday 24th July was Vice-President, Jaimal Patel’s first day as a full time Sabbatical Officer for NHSF (UK). He looks forward to meeting students across the country and strengthening our work within society. We wish him all the very best and will be sure to keep you all updated with his achievements! Here are a few words from him:

“On Friday 22nd July 2016, I signed off from work for the very last time. It was a sad and emotional moment as I said goodbye to the children I’ve worked with for 3 years, but I now look onwards and upwards towards bigger and better things. I now embark on an incredible journey as a Sabbatical Officer for NHSF (UK). I look forward to meeting students across the country, solving issues and strengthening our work in the wider society.

I decided to take on the role as Sabbatical Officer as I believe in the work of NHSF (UK). Back in February 2015, I thought about taking on this role. I called Bhavin Davdra, NHSF (UK) Advisory Board Member and former Sabbatical Officer, in March 2015 seeking his advice and guidance. Speaking to Bhavin was definitely thought provoking and made me realise how much I in fact wanted to do this for NHSF (UK). I sought further direction from other NHSF (UK) Alumni Members, including Sanjay Kundalia who truly enlightened me and allowed me to fully comprehend the role and what I would learn through my time.

As the journey starts, I will now look forward to strengthening the work we do with our chapters and work to my best endeavours to shape our future leaders, who will become awe-inspiring role models for the next generation to come. I plan to meet parents and community members across the country to promote the work of NHSF (UK).

It’s an exciting time for NHSF (UK) as we celebrate 25 years. I’m proud to represent NHSF (UK) and become the 8th Sabbatical Officer. I intend to fulfil the role to the best of my ability.”
